Unit 23050
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: fill of a pit
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit
Discussion: Fill comprised of redeposited midden material of what was initially thought was a burial truncated by F7962. Fill was severly disturbed by animal burrowing and was rich in all things midden - obsidian, faunal and microfaunal bones, shells and eggshells and so on (on that note this somewhat differs from what is usually found in higher midden levels to the east - SP610 - in terms that there shells are rare and have very low densities). This redeposited midden layer was distinctly different from walls and base of this feature, that among other things have somewhat sloping and wavy horizontal laminations that could be followed. What is also worth noting is that there were no human remains.
