Unit 23153
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Primary room infill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Layer exposed after remove the room infill U23144, the arbitrary layer U23155 and the remains of the pit U23147. This layer had been documented in the entire main room (Sp 623) of the building and was clearly abutting all the walls. Nevertheless seems that the layer had been truncated in the eastern side of the building for the pit U23147 which is deeper in that part.
This layer had been interpreted as a primary room infill according with it morphological characteristics. Is brown, composed mostly by clay and silt and with lots of collapsed material. The presence of building material was extended in all the surfaces, with lots of pieces of collapsed roof, wall plaster…. consequence probably from the abandon and demolition process of the building. The first features and floors of the latest phase of the B-139 starts to appear around 0.10-0.15 m below that layer.
Between all this collapsed material, on the latest floor and closed to the south western platform we define a plaster element (architectural feature U23165) that seems to define a kind of face, maybe a bull??? What is sure is that this element was do it on porpoise all the plastering layers follow the same direction, defining the face and what’s seems to be two horns?? Also is visible the remains of a kind of noise also outlined for different plaster layers. Finally at least four different paint plaster layers had been defined, but any patron has been documented. So seems clear that the object/element has been done on porpoise that was painted but is difficult to say what it is. Probably is not in situ and should be collapsed and truncated on porpoise from a nearest area.
It seems also clear that during the abandon/demolition process all the features where heavily truncated and remove, this will explain the quantity of collapsed materials found on the floors and within that unit.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
X Finds Material: nothing recorded
Finds Material Stored: nothing recorded
