Description: This is an irregular cut of a shallow pit which contained a few animal bone. Its Northen-most part was truncated by Platform F.8457, U.23207 and partially by the SW point of Oven 8038.
It was a shallow pit containing only one fill and a few animal bone 

Discussion: This is a shallow pit cut found partially under Platform F.8457, U23207. It contained one fill, Fill U.23209, and a few animal bone. The purpose of this pit is ambiguous. At this level, many of the possibly associated features have not survived truncation from other pits and pit-graves from above and it is difficult to propose a purpose for this small pit. A feature of the pit that is worth noting is its almost completely circular SW edge, extending off the edge of the central oval shape of the cut: it seems that a small rounded post-hole, of a diameter not bigger than 8cm was opened off this pit cut. Alternatively, this pit-cut cut a small NE portion of this small feature or this pit cut is of a very irregular shape. It is also possible that the entire SW part of this cut, which is more rounded rather than irregular belongs to a different pit which cut through the NE irregular pit… It is very difficult to decipher the shape of this feature and its purpose.
