Description: This is a series of burnt floors in the central, eastern part of Building 52, in space 94; South of the burial platforms in the very NE of this building.

Discussion: U23461 is a series of black, burnt, thin, floors, made of lime-plaster, in the West of the central space of eastern Building 52. The continuation of those floors in the East were excavated under unit number U23468, because they had not been affected by fire and remained white. Furthermore, U23461 had barley impressions on the top of their surfaces and were of very similar consistency, texture and structure with floors U23438 amd 23447 (in the depression in the West), and floors U23430 and U23437 (on Platform F7638), with also barley impressions on the top. Along with these indications, some layers of floors U23461 were clearly seen going down from the central Building 52 (East) and onto the depression for only one or two centimetres. It was not possible to establish a confident continuity between floors U23461 of central Building 52 and floors U23438 and U23447 of the depression, but there was convincing evidence for contemporary use of these two spaces, and probably with the space of Platform F7638 and the burnt floors with barley impressions on there also.
