Discussion: (AB) this feature is situated on the N of the wall F254 which is equal to Wall 63 and inside the cut of this wall (2380) contained medium size of brick and mortar aggregate.

(SF) Backfill of construction cut for wall 254 

 

Execution: trowel and small pick 

Condition: sunny 

Consistency: moderately firm (20-40) (2-4), fails under firm force 

Colour: 10 YR 7/3 very pale brown when dry 10 YR 4/2 dark greyish brown when wet 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: compound layered (unoriented) 

Inclusions: mudbrick crumbs & frags, animal bones, chunks of plaster, charcoal, siliceous plant remains, fine roots, potsherds 

Post-depositional Features: The..ts look like churned fill and includes 

Basal Boundary: anthropogenic constructional
