Description: U23821 was a series of plastered floors and their very thin packing in the central part of Eastern Building 52 / 167, space 94/634.
Discussion: Floors U23821 were very compact white,with a smooth top surface, and revealed a thin plastered floor of which the packing was orange baked earth (U23835). Burial Pit F8521, Cut U23826 was cut from U23821. Also the ridge in the middle of the two Northern Platforms of Building 52 sat on U23821.
Consistency: Compact
Colour: Grey - light grey in the West; White in the East
Texture: Sand
Bedding: Very thin parallel layers
Inclusions: low density flecks of charcoal in the West; granules of aggregates in the East
Post-depositional Features: Compaction; heated especially in the West because of the fire burning the floors above and below
Basal Boundary: Constructional, distinct, smooth, flat and even
