Unit 2506
Category: skeleton dug in 1997
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: skeleton
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This number was assigned to the 2 adult gracile long bones that = lying beneath skeletons 2169 and 2141, and = tucked up against eastern edge of burial 207 (grave cut 2176). A few disarticulated bones, mostly from the southern edge of the grave cut, were also included within this context.
These long bones = likely to represent the primary burial beneath platform F. 13, pushed to one side when 2169 = interred. However, it is possible that these bones might relate to skull 2126 -- the juvenile cranium, and perhaps also/instead the collection of bones numbered as 2195. Only lab work could confirm this, but if this is the case, then the stratigraphic sequence may have to be rethought.
*These = matched to 1955 -- see that skeleton sheet's continuation for a discussion of this.
