Discussion: This is a patch of dirty floor above u.30132 but below u.30554. It was just a small patch quite separated. Probably it is the remains of a repair or remodelling of the floor in this part, maybe in association with the threshold area to smoothen out the elevation difference or unevennes with clay inclusions that make the surface uneven in that layer (u.30593), not this. 

 

Consistency: Packed, friable with trowel 

Colour: Dark grey 

Texture: Clay 

Bedding: Layered with phytoliths and make up 

Inclusions: Phytoliths 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrow 

Basal Boundary: Clear (another floor)
