Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous

 

Discussion: Bricky building infill. Defined from previous layer by the nature of the rubble it contains. This fill contains more well-crushed building materials compared to the larger lumps of materials in the layer above. This unit seems to be just like typical heterogeneous unit infill. 

 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: light-orange and white-grey 

Texture: silty loam clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: burnt brick (small), phytoliths, wall/floor plaster, flecks, rock fragments 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows, disturbance by roots, truncation 

Basal Boundary: irregular, sharp
