Unit 30941
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Posthole Infill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: posthole; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This unit was identified as a separate unit by the dark-mid grey circular outline separating the infill from the surrounding unit. One (post)hole, later than this one, has already been excavated in this area by the hearth and we have tentively identified another posthole a layer below, datied earlier than the one excavated with fill U 30941. The fill had a slightly different color composition at the top with a little lighter brown and lacking any plaster areas on the floor like th surrounding floor has. The southwestern portion of the posthole was more friable than the other half, possibly as a result of two cracks running from the hearth through this posthole to the western edge of the platform. This unit was excavated with a small trowel and a spoon.
