Discussion: This is a very small deposit of brick material dumped into the room after abandonment. It does not come from the wall, which are completely different. 

Recognition: Bricky layer between 2 distinctive layers (2896) and (2895). 

Definition: Moderate. 

Execution: Trowel and leaf. 

Condition: Sheltered. 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: 10 YR 6/3-6/2 light brownish grey to pale brown 

Texture: silty clay 80:20 

Bedding: mixed/convolute 

Inclusions: occasional gritty stone <5 mm, roots occasional, charcoal occasional 5% <10 mm (most charcoal is in the interface with (2858), plaster one largish chunk c. 50 mm 

Post-depositional Features: root line at W edge, some salting 

Basal Boundary: concolute, interdigitated with (2895), generally clear but mixed in with (2858) at south end
