Description: Floor and makeup below space 91.(CH, 31-07-2015)

Floor and makeup within space 576, in western Building 52. U32409 represents the northern part of this floor, North of long Basin F7778. The southern part was excavated under no. U31408. 

Discussion: Seems to go under 31408. (CH, 31-07-2015)

U31409 was compact, off white, with tiny flecks of charcoal in a low percentage. It covered the entire southern part of space 576. U31409 abutted to Walls F 2140 and F7776, and also to long Basin F7778, and to Bench F 8501 partially covering it's northern edge. U31409 had a thick coat of lime-plaster on top and must have been in use for quite some time. Its packing was also substantial and well compressed and compacted. The packing of Floor U31409 was mixed but generally clean and poor in artefacts. 

Consistency: Compact 

Colour: Off white, grey, white 

Texture: Sand 

Bedding: Parallel layers on the top, massive at the bottom 

Inclusions: 25% aggregates, 20% plaster, 20% marl, 10% charcoal, 10% small rocks, 10% clay, small pieces of brick and mortar 

Post-depositional Features: Truncated by Wall F2183, Compacted by layers above. Mildly affected by animal burrows in the North. 

Basal Boundary: Constructional, levelled, distinct, smooth, flat and even
