Discussion: A mortar U.31542 had been recorded as the paste that joint different kinds of mud-bricks U.31541. they both constituted a structure built as a latter addition on top of the badly truncated walls of B.132 (F.7584 and 7149). The presented construction might be regarded as retention wall that was erected after the abandonment of the mentioned building in order to create solid restriction providing the accumulation of the midden (U.32711) to the north. However, more likely (considering the L-shaped alignment of the wall which formed a real corner) it might have been set to restrict accumulation of the sediments constituting room-fills within the interior of the abandoned house. The sealed area was eventually used as burial ground assigned as Sp.602.
As regards to the mortar U.31542 it referred to layers of varied thickness (2-4cm) recognized between courses of bricks (31541). Considering the composition of the paste it must have been prepared as one subsistence in order to join reused bricks and form the solid wall.
