Discussion: This is a layer of makeup on platform F. 7954, lipping up to the earliest layer of plaster covering the entirety of bench F. 7966. It was grey and compact, and was excavated by leaf trowel. Toward the E wall F. 7712, many layers of plaster and makeup were preserved, but were removed with this layer because to excavate each mini layer individually in single context would be impossible. 

Consistency: compact, greasy 

Colour: gray 

Texture: mud brick/makeup 

Bedding: mostly uniform; more plaster and makeup layers preserved toward E edge 

Inclusions: charcoal, plaster 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: clear, came down on next plaster layer in F. 7954.
