Unit 32029
Category: Cut dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: cut - limit of the fire-spot
Data Category Information: Description: hearth
Discussion: A cut U.32029 was recorded along with the burnt layer U.32025 which sealed whole shallow incise identified in the floor U.32015 under Eastern part of complex oven (F.7854) sequences. The cut most plausibly was executed in the past in order to create a restriction of a fire spot whose remains may be referred to the mentioned burnt layer U.32025, which respected totally the cut. Accordingly, it seems that the semi-circular shallow incise was dug as a later extension of the earlier, bigger cut U.32028 situated to the West. A purpose of the latter oval depression was related with placing there before an oven – probably the earliest fire installation of that kind on the spot which was almost completely destroyed. As such, edges of both of the cuts (32028-to the west, 32029-to the east) acted as a limit of un-structured fire-spot which constituted a clear interval between the long series of ovens sequence situated in the same place.
