Description: Heat-affected primary flexed adult burial with wooden bowl over knee. 

Discussion: Flexed adult skeleton buried in platform 7950. Heat affected due to burning of building after this individual was buried. The burning has also preserved some carbonized remains of various parts of the body & samples of this material were taken from the pelvis, abdomen (where it was visible on several vertebrae & ribs) and inside the cranium. A wooden bowl (X1) was found laid on the body, seemingly around the left knee & on top of or around the night hand. Several beads X2-11 also found with the body, including a bracelet around the mid right lower arm (X7) and several next to (but not around) the right wrist (X9). A number of beads were also found in the neck area (X2-6, 10 & 11), near the wooden bowl, probably forming a necklace. It is possible that beads from X7 have collapsed from the upper arm or were round the right wrist-analysis of relative position of the arms may reveal more. Similar in positioning & grave goods to neighboring burial f.7956.
