Description: Crushed skull (both cranium and mandible) along SE edge of cut. Not in articulation with other bones. 

Discussion: Crushed skull (both cranium and mandible) along SE edge of cut. Not in articulation with other bones. No other crania have been found so far on the eastern edge of the cut (4 crania lined the western edge, and 1 was crushed over long bones in the middle of the northern portion of F7963). Two innominate (pelvic) bones were found lying opposite of this cranium, partially on top of cranium sk. 30043. It is possible they were placed there intentionally as an approximation of normal flexed burial position, while loose long bones from at least 2 individuals were placed along the edge of the cut in a more random fashion.

Crushing of skull may indicate that brain tissue was already removed or decomposed from the cranial cavity and bone was dry rather than fresh when skull was deposited.
