Unit 32672
Category: Layer dug in 2017
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Partition wall
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: brick&mortar; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit is related with the remains of the earliest phase of the partition wall of the building and was completely exposed after remove the plaster and the packing of the crawlhole. Was pretty thin only 0.17 cm, oriented E-W that extended at least 2.05 m. We could not find any connection between the E edge of this feature in relation of the east wall of the building (F8168) so we don’t know if in any moment it was a contact between this two features.
What is clear is that in the W edge the wall is abutting the western wall of the building (F 8169). About the constructive characteristics the wall was built with light brown mudbricks and kind of greyish mortar, but where not visible clear courses of bricks and mortar, because it was very eroded. The wall was very truncated and also rebuild and transformed in the latest phase. The remains of plaster for that phase were pretty thick and were visible only in the west edge and also a bit in the crawhole edges, enough to define the limits of this access.
Seems that this partition wall was built on the very earliest floor and the make-up (U32667-32654-23204).
