Unit 32674
Category: Skeleton dug in 2017
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Adult skeleton
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Primary individual burial of an old adult individual, possible female. The burial cut is truncated to the north by burial F. 8171. This truncation caused that only few elements of the upper limbs are preserved. In fact, the cranium is not preserved as well as the vertebral column, the thorax, and the scapular zone.
The mandible is in supero-lateral view with the atlas inside, on top of the mandible phytolits were visible (S3). The mandible present an (agenesie) of most of the premolars and molars. In addition, no front teeth were preserved, based on this observation, the individual is probably an old one.
Phytolits were found as well below the individual, on top and below the left forearm, on the left humerus, on top and under the left hand.
The right hand is on a palmar view, it lay on top and under the right femur, the phalanges (of M1 and M2) are pointing to the south-est, the phallanges of the other fingers are closed avec the points to the north.
The position of the right foot is on top of the left one. The right foot is on plantar view with the metatarsal lying on the east edge of the burial cut. The left foot is on a latero-dorsal view in a perfect anatomical conexion touching the edge of the grave.
The global position of the skeleton indicate that the individual was wrapped by an organic enveloppe. The patterns of the phytolits were criss-crossing, three samples has been took.
