Constructional layers on F.279? It is not clear what the purpose of this jutting "blob" is, but the end, it is clear it is part of F.279, whatever that was (NSH 9/9/98).
Recognition: White plaster on projecting blob/block on S side, W end of F. 279. Clear- white, clear boundaries in most areas.
Definition: E edge uncertain until exc. of join with more white plaster on S face of F.279.
Execution: Leaf trowel.
Condition: Sheltered.
Consistency: firm + friable in different areas
Colour: 2.5 Y 8/2 pale yellow- 10 YR 8/2 very pale brown
Texture: clay
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: no
Post-depositional Features: cleaned repeatedly
Basal Boundary: uncertain due to nature of underlying deposit, bricky part stuck to it, crumbly part crumbled away, whitish part difficult to separate
