Unit 3352
Category: Cut dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: cut for bin
Data Category Information: Description: basin
Dimensions: 0.40 m deep; 0.86 m E-W x 0.82 m N-S
Discussion: Cut for construction of bin F.257.
It truncated oven F.268 to its E and uses this as one of the bin walls. Later walls were added to the N. Uses wall of building to S, but not known what happened in E as it is truncated by pit (2707). [ Now thought to end before this at edge of pit (3688). Not sure if top of this pit was part of same bin (24/08/98).] Seems to be stepped down to E though unsure whether (2789) (still in baulk section) is internal wall or levelling for baseof pit.
Unknown relationship with bin cut to W (3354). Possibly contemporary.
Recognition: Dramatic, breaks of slope of oven suggested truncation and also burnt oven lining as showing through when oven is truncated.
Definition: Starts at E side of oven. Truncated to E by post retreival pit. Pete's cut to N as its flat as surrounding area.
Execution: 1/2 sectioned, baulk left in.
Condition: Dry, covered.
Shape: subrectangular
Sides: steep, about 80 degrees in W, about 45 degrees in N where survives
Base Break: moderate
Base: general slope down to N, stepped down to E, truncated to E by (2707)
