Discussion: (3359) represents a layer of soft, umixed material which was the uppermost layer of those that were cut into to provide the foundation for wall F.56 (cut (3305)). It was a mixed, rubbishy layerand could be the product of an accumulation of waste material in the corner of walls F.278 and F.281.

Recognition: Soft, rich, organic material that was clearly different from the bricks of F.281 and F.278 to either side of it.

Definition: Defined by cracking/difference in material.

Condition: Dry.

Consistency: friable
