Unit 3369
Category: Cut dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Burial Cut
Data Category Information: Description: burial
Dimensions: 0.7m N-S x 0.62m E-W x 90 mm deep.
Discussion: Burial cut for skeleton 3368 in burial 285. Medium to high possibility of this cut which was very difficult to define and the NE edge was not successfully defined at all.
Cut was identified before most of the skeleton was defined which is why I'm pretty certain the cut is real.
The skull was first found which led us to look for a cut. It is highly likely that this cut through 3314 which was under excavation when the skull was found. Thus I'm also pretty certain that the cut was sealed by surface 3181 which would make the cut a maximum of 0.15 m deep.
Recognition: Uncovered human skeletom first which alerted us to a burial and therefore looked for a cut.
Definition: Very faint deposit discoloration.
Execution: Followed down from southern edge, defined and uncovered feet bones and continued as by following bones and edge of cut.
Condition: Dry and not too clayey therefore easy to clear bone.
Shape: Sub-circular.
Sides: Sides vertical.
Base Break: Unclear braek of slope.
Base: Flat-ish base.
Orientation: N/A
