Discussion: Rim of oven F.252 below unit (3372) forms a rim though this may not be the actual rim as this side of the oven seems truncated. Unit may be a deposit built up against the back of the oven. There is a chance of it being an occupational deposit pushed up against the back of the oven before, during or after the oven reconstruction.
Recognition: Visible post-excavating (3372) dark brown/red layer.
Definition: Clear to W and more diffuse at E.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Fairly soft and dry.
Consistency: soft and loose
Colour: 10 YR 3/3 dark brown
Texture: sandy silt
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: clay ball frags. (5%), charcoal (2%)
Post-depositional Features:
Basal Boundary: anthropogenic/abrupt deposit/ clear and sharp notably by colour/ smooth and distinct/inclined slightly W to E/lipping up to wall
