Unit 3454
Category: layer dug in 2000
Area: Trench I
Interpretive Categories: Arbitrary
Data Category Information: Description: arbitrary allocation for samples
Discussion: Seems to be a lower ploughsoil with traces of possible disturbed graves and lots of animal interference. Pottery increases in quantity and size in the western half. Lots of human bone in the eastern half, especially towards the eastern edge. Bone decreases in quantity towards the west. A line of stones and the remnants of another line in the centre E - W may mark graves or may relate to the stone wall in the west part of the trench. (NB these stone do surround a grave, F700 5/8).
This area was later extended to the south to Mellaart's trench by Trina, who amended the sketch.
