Unit description: X1 is a large fragment of a sheep tibia with odd cut marks. Sample 1 flotation >4 mm residue sorted 100%, recorded completely. Quite large for floor unit; certainly doesn't look like clean floor, but probably includes a certain amount of the fill above the floor. Nearly all sheep-size, including one tooth each of a sheep and a goat of the same age. Fairly even distribution of body parts, although vertebrae are scanty, and the foot bones are mostly digested and hence of separate origin. A notable lack of horn core. Quite fragmented, but not just tiny worn bits. Some burning, fair amount of digestion. Weathering variable. Two bone tools, both with old breaks. A fair bit of microfauna, looking to be mostly frog, some of it burnt. Looks like daily post-consumption discard, in fact like small bit of 'midden'; this is rather different from the other House 3 floor units to come in so far.
