Discussion: Deposit within area of hearth/oven which is probably made up of floor and oven structure demolition + ash. Possibly used as make up for floor (3624).
Recognition: Recognised as more mixed deposit beneath (3624) with orange flecks/lumps in it.
Definition: Within W area of oven continues into N baulk.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: compact
Colour: 10 YR 5/2 greyish brown with flecks of 10 YR 7/8 yellow
Texture: ash 10% silt 60% clay 30%
Bedding: compound, broken layers and lenses of burnt clay, ash and plaster
Inclusions: 5% charcoal, 5% salts, 10% burnt clay/silt, 5% plaster frags.
