Unit 3627
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: outer lining oven
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0.7 m wide; 0.08 m high
Discussion: Same 'inner' + 'outer' lining pattern seen elsewhere with the ovens. These units not continous with the lining visible at the top of the oven, possibly belong to an earlier phase, but maybe the lining is simply missing up the side on the E side of the oven. (3622) and (3627) are below the level of the floor which extended across the top, which seems to suggest that they belong to an earlier phase although if there was no trace of an earlier floor remains with digging this outer lining (3627) think more that definitely is a distinct material to (3622) and that (3627) is the heat affected outer structural material and this is probably the case with the outer equivalent situations.
Recognition: Recognised with (3622) on removal of unit (3384), dark brown outer lining and light red 'inner lining' together as elsewhere.
