Dimensions: 0.6 N-S x 0.35 E-W; 10 mm deep
Discussion: Small patch of partly burnt material at NW corner of south-eastern most sample square in space 117. Partly Partly underlying? plastery layer ( ), but this is lost right in the corner where another brown mixed layer is overlain, which also underlies the plastery layer.
Recognition: Seen as uneven dark patch in NW corner of SE- most sample square, space 117.
Definition: Quite a clear edge between this dark material and paler deposits below.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry with very slight moisture.
Consistency: firm
Colour: 2.5 Y 3/3 dark olive brown
Texture: silt loam
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: 5% small bone frags., 10% charcoal flecks
Post-depositional Features: none appear
Basal Boundary: clear/smooth/anthropogenic/very slightly sloping down to the W
