Dimensions: 3.4 m EW x 0.4 m 

 

Discussion: Brick very hard, generally similar throughout the entire wall. 

 

Recognition: As with (3715) visible as brown/white layer. 

Definition: Occasionally diffuse but breaks off in a clean layer. 

Execution: Trowel and mattock. 

Condition: Very dry. 

Consistency: very hard, strong/compact 

Colour: 10 YR 5/3 brown 

Texture: fine silt, maybe a little clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: charcoal, bone fragments, stone, shell, all in small amounts (>2%) 

Post-depositional Features: a few roots, heavy salt layer at basal boundary 

Basal Boundary: constructional/distinct and very sharp/smooth and gently inclined S/smooth surface; very visible salt layer also marks basal boundary
