Discussion: Small patch of grey material below oven debris (2795) to W of oven in SW corner of Filbert. Clearly spread further than the recorded deposit but limited by baulks. Possibly a make up layer for floor levelling. 

Recognition: Small patch of grey material in SW corner of Filbert square below contrasting oven debris and to W of oven. 

Definition: Clear upper boundary with oven debris, clear lower E boundary with ashy layer. 

Execution: Trowel, leaf trowel. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: 2.5 Y 6/2 light brownish grey 

Texture: silt loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 2% small pot frags, 1% small obsidian frags, 5% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: small roots, salts 

Basal Boundary: clear/smooth/anthropogenic/sloping gently down to the W
