Discussion: Eleventh layer of floor lenses on platform F239. Labelled 21 on plan 98-639.
This layer may be a trample layer, very patchy, colour is patchy also, is discontinuous in the E of the excavation limit. Difficult to see exactly which layer is present in the SE limit of excavation.
Recognition: Floor of platform. Colour/texture changes.
Definition: Defined by limit of excavation.
Execution: Leaf trowel and patience.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: compact - friable when crushed
Colour: 7.5 YR 4/2 brown (mostly)
Texture: ashy silty clay
Bedding: compound layered
Inclusions: few charcoal flecks
