Unit 4016
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: fill/dumping,floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: occupation; Deposition: multiple
Dimensions: depth 2-1.8 cm; length 55 cm; width 35 cm
Discussion: Eighteenth layer of floor lenses on platform F239. Labelled 37 on plan 98-639.
Possibly this layer was part of a dumping event, it contains bone and charcoal fragments, and plaster lumps, however, not as many bones evident as in layer (4015). It is also possible that this was a floor, made up of different materials. It was also much thicker than any of the other layers seen in this area, and had no lenses visible.

Consistency: compact but friable when crushed
Colour: 7.5 YR 5/3 brown
