Discussion: Spread of make up across much of the southern and central ares of space 163. Cut by features in the south and overlapping floor (4252) deposits to north and platform base F428 to the south.
Elswhere directly overlies infill of building below. 

Recognition: Gray spread below Mellaart backfill, cut by a number of small features 

Definition: Clear boundary with lower deposits to south, becoming less clear in relationship to units to north 

Execution: Mattock and hoe from south to north 

Condition: Dry and firm 

Consistency: Firm 

Colour: mid gray 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: <5% small stone, bone and clay ball fragments. <2% small charcoal, obsidian and shell fragments
