Dimensions: up to 0.09m wide; up to 0.08m deep; 0.60m across 

Discussion: Grey clay/silt deposit around perimeter of 'bowl' enclosing apparent hearth. - Presumably some kind of 'make-up' or construction for the 'hearth' represented by the scorching of deposit 4740, which lay against it. 4746 in turn overlays another burnt/scorched deposit (4749). At the SW end of the deposit took off a thin ( 5mm ) layer of mid grey silty clay at the base as part of this unit.

Texture: clay/silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occ. flecks of charcoal
