Unit 4805
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Compound layers/ bin base, fill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: multiple
Dimensions: ~70cm n-s by 60cm e-w by ~4cm
Discussion: This fill 4805 comprised of compound layers of plaster, lots of organic spread and packing. 4805 covered the east half of F 488. On excavatoin 4705 an eastern edge of the bin was apparent which joins with the northern edge which was revealed under 4794. 4794 was similar in composition to 4805 and the distinction between them rests purely on the fact that while 4794 covered the northern bin edge, 4805 was contained by it. 4805 covered a bin arm which extends west out of the middle of the east edge of the bin. 4805 covers the fill of this earlier bin 4707. There may be an earlier bin under 4805 and 4807 may constitute the creation of a base for the bin above and continual replastering and use of the later bin, 4805 and 4807 are the same material and probably represent a base and use layer of the later bin.
Recognition: Under 4794-very similar but 4794 covered the northern edge of bin and 4805 is contained by this edge.
Definition: Northern side of bin/ + southern arm contains fill, fill towards eastern side
