Dimensions: 0.61m (E-W), 0.57m (N-S), 0.08m deep 

Discussion: 4957 was a skim of yellowish white plaster which lined parts of the sides and base of cut 4958. Its existence suggests that the cut 4958 may have initially been used as some sort of basin before it was later reused as a hollow in which to place an oven. This interpretation is less certain because the deposit was very patchy, except in the east where it filled a relatively deep, small hole.

Colour: yellowy brownish-white

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: tiny flecks of clay and charcoal

Basal Boundary: sharp and distinct lining cut 4958.
