Unit 4973
Category: Cut dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: remnant part of cut
Data Category Information: Description: scoop
Dimensions: 0.18m (E-W), 0.09m (N-S), 0.04m deep
Discussion: 4973 was what remained of a cut beneath a remnant deposit 4969. It could represent the cut for an earlier feature which was almost completely obliterated by the later cut 4510. It seems more likely that it was part of the same cut as 4510 that was not recognised/visible when this was first excavated.
Shape: only a single straight edge of the cut remained
Sides: vertical
Base Break: a distinct, 120 degree base break of slope
Base: difficult to define
Orientation: E-W
