Discussion: the excavation of this spoil started off from the N end of the trench late afternoon after the removal of the top soil has been finished. We are hoping to find the trnch wall of Mellaart in the next days. 

 

Recognition: recognized by the loose texture and greyish brown colour below top soil to the north of the trench 

Definition: loose greyish brownsoil towards the north of trench 

Execution: mattock and trowel 

Consistency: loose 

Colour: greyish brown 

Texture: silty clay loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: quite a bit of bone, pot, obsidian, some flecks of charcoal, some ash (coming from the burnt deposit around), salt concretions 

Post-depositional Features: intense animal , root, insect activity 

Basal Boundary: arbitrary
