Tis unit was excavated following the burial cut outlined in the platform loor. The eastern edge of the unit was excavated ( and defined) after the removal of the NS baulk. Human bone (primarly ahnd, feet and verterbrae) was scattered throughout the unit. The majority of the bones have been recorded as x-finds in order to plot their distribution. Field observations on these bones suggest a MNI of 2; laboratory analysis will clarify this. The remain of a basket (S6) was taken before the basket was conserved. The conservation remain of the basket (x1 x2) were removed and taken to the lab.
Human bones that appeared to be articulated were located in the northern portion of the unit ( deep into the excavation of the unit). Their presence suggested that the burial may be located further to the north. Excavation stopped in this unit while the floor of the NW platform was further excavated.
