Unit 7929
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: room fill
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Description: Similar to 7913 but contains numerous frangments of painted plaster (wall fall)
Discussion: This deposit was taken out on 13/7 as U. 7913, the giant room fill. UK changed the unit to preserve at least part of any extra information. This unit was on fast track and no flotation or archive samples were taken and the fill was not sieved. There was a good deal of red painted plaster over a steeply, westward depression on the platform surface. A burned area was found and WM sampled it- wood charcoal was found here in abundance. The plaster in te surface was probably fallen from the walls. In profile, the plaster had dense stratigraphy with greyish lenses.
Volume of unit estimated in PX (DE 18/07/09). I believe the unit to have been 100% dry sieved, but not sure of this!
