Discussion: 1. appears to be the base of a previous structure, comes down to a continued surface.

2. May be remnants of a bench but unlikely, more likely the make up for a platform surface, levelling area up to level of platform 

 

Recognition: reddish brown deposit - contrast with whitish surround, also slightly raised 

Definition: clear 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: dry 

Consistency: fairly compact 

Colour: reddish brown 

Texture: silt with some harder areas 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: tiny amount of flecked charcoal, one clay object 

Post-depositional Features: some animal burrowing, clear edge 

Basal Boundary: plastered at one side, remaining areas clear and distinct
