Unit 8108
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor and packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: greyish black floor w/ reddish patches. 2nd floor in sp. 158. 6695 and 8104 were the removal of the 1st floor in this area. We uncovered a cicularish phytolith concentration on a surface next to the pit (F. 750) Found a clay ball fragment on the floor surface and phytoliths on top of even more phytoliths. We came down to this white plaster layer which is covering the surface in sp. 158 to the rim of the oven (F. 646) and the basket cut (F. 750) respectively. Daveid is about to begin excavating the southern bit of the space and we expect to hit the same white floor tracable to the southern wall. The white floor goes underneath the small brick wall step we are going to excavate as unit 8103.
