Discussion: This unit was opened in order to have a better look in the "floor sitation" between F.169 and F.778, and in the norhern part of former "bath-tub" cut (F.775). Last year we removed several floor and packing sequences in the sauthern part of F.775 and came down to a layer of reddish-brown clay mixed with black burnt soil with inclusions such as ash, charcoal, phosphates. In the norhern part we stopped excavating at higher level.
This year, after removing floor and thick packing from F.169 (U.8379, 8380, 8381-8382, 8386-8387). The connection between the platform and kitchen aria became clearer. It is obvious now, after scraping of floor unit-8376, that first we have to excavate F.169, since the level reached in the kitchen is earlier: we have to remove one more floor+packing layer from the platform and beige plaster floor found at the base of unit 8376 (several red spots were exposed while diging this unit - taces of ochre, photoes taken), and that we can start digging the black burnt surface discovered last year in S (photo taken).
