Discussion: The unit consists of 6 rows of mudbricks and 5 rows of mortar between them. This is the "closing" of the door in the E wall (F. 633 and 762) of build. 3. The mudbricks do not differ at first sight from the rest of the wall. Urface is slanting down from S to N. It was easy to follow the mudbrick rows at the beginning but as we got down and to the E, they seemed to disappear and were replaced by a layer of fine stamped clay. This layer is 15-20 cm thick - its upper part (ca. 10-12 cm thick) is yellowish-beige in colour and its lower part (ca. 8-10 cm thick) is a bit darker - grayish beige. No mudbrick rows can be seen in this layer so far - it seems quite compact. The unit lies above the floors of building 3, which can be clearly seen in the section.
To the N the unit abuts a layer of clay that seems to seal a hole that might be from a wooden post.
