Unit 8638
Category: layer dug in 2003
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: midden soil
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: When unit 8632 was removed surface with rubble material mixed with middeny soil. Appeared, abutting south, west and north wall of the surface and in relation with the older wall, parallel to the east wall of sp. 88.
In the central part of the space this layer with rubble was thinner, so we decided to open a small quadrangular area here and up to the north wall, in order to expose the surface below the rubble and the bottom end of the west wall.
The area was 1.07 x o.69 m large and the layer within consisted of middeny deposit (most probably midden itself). We reached the bottom end of the north wall - it sits on a midden and in its western part it cuts the older (black-bricked) wall.
With this unit we partially entered this new space lying under sp. 88 and it is obviously filled with midden, at least its upper part.
