Unit 8991
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: layer,midden
Data Category Information: Location: roof (building); Material: brick
Discussion: This is another layer of constructional material deposited on the top of the Neolithic roof. It is considerably heterogenous and is composed of large number of destroyed fragments of mudbricks, mortar and painted plaster. The material is scattered randomly across the layer. However, there were two concentrations of those elements in N and SW part of the unit.
The latter is probably associated with bricky layer recorded as unit 8992. Interestingly, the layer contains more archaeological material , particular animal bones, than layer above (unit 7880). Its basal parts are more midden - like. The unit was defined arbitrary as 15 cm thick layer.
