This is a relatively large pit of difficult to specify function. It is placed in the northern section of the west extension trench. The pit is placed directly to the north from a row of mudbricks of irregular size and shape. They appear to be deliberately constructed and remind superstructure/ burial marker of Byzantine graves excaveted in the previous seasons. However, no skeleton was found in the pit which excludes the possibility ofit being a burial. |
