This is a bin or more generally a container located in the eastern part of space 511, just beside the Western face of the wall F.7126. It is made of grey silty-clay probably mixed with a marl-like component. The nature of the whole feature is unique and its purpose is still unclear. Within the particularities worth noticing is the oval shape in plan, sack-like section and the height of the construction. The walls of the structure varied in thickness (1 - 3cm) depending on the elevation and they remind separate construction that does not share side with the wall (F.7126) of the space. It seems that the structure was performed in similar way as the oldest handmade pottery technique- see also unit sheet 30575 description. |
