This pit was identified similarly to many of the others in TPC Trench 3-- it was marked by a circular region of grey amidst a more uniform orange color. This pit has a heterogeneous fill composed of animal bones, obsidian, groundstone, pottery sherds, and even human bones, which may be a possible sign of the pit being used as a midden deposit or a storage space. There is one corner to the otherwise circular pit on the Eastern edge of the pit. A quarter of the pit lies within the Western edge of the trench. The pit was excavated using trowel and brush. |
